"The Best way to describe Star Trek XI is to say that this is a Movie of the Movies.
Though the original films were decent Trek movies of there respected TV shows, the original movies had run out of steam and a new family was needed. And J.J. Abrams has done a sterling job of giving the ailing trek franchise a good kick start. This new trek is a welcome change as I feel it captures the classic treks humour action and charm as well as being able to tie it onto the next generation universe with the inclusion of Spock. Sure there may be a few plot holes but as with anything to do with trek once the time line has been changed anything can happen, like Chekov being the same age as the rest of the crew. I don't see that as a problem as once the Kelvin had been destroyed the original trek universe changed and that meant that Chekov may have been born at an earlier date.
Trek XI is a good fun glossy movie and Abrams took a big Risk in changing what trek fans considered unchangeable. The only problem I had with the film was that the engine room of the enterprise looked like a brewery."

"Star Trek has been a big part of my life for many years, and watching this movie was a must, for me. My favourite Star Trek movie will always be First Contact, but this new movie is coming in as second. The actors are brilliant, the story is brilliant, and the special fx is out of this world, no pun intended!!! I love Zack Quinto as the young Spock, I thought watching him as Spock would remind me of his role as the evil Sylar in Heroes, but I was wrong, he was great. This movie is a must for, not only Star Trek fans, but anyone who loves really good action movies."

"have never been a 'Trekkie' and never will be but my house mate is and always has been. We went to see this and we were both blown away by the action & comedy and he said that the new actors portrayal were so much like the original characters, especially McCoy.
In response to maxus28's comments of it basically not sticking to the original storyline from the first series, what does that matter? Its already been explained that the timeline in this film and this universe are now completely different. Kirk wasnt born in space in the original series but in this film he was...because of Nero going back in time and changing everything. Also, there is no 'damage caused' as again this is an alternate timeline for everybody.
As my title says, I think that this is the best Star Trek movie made so far and I look forward to the next, and owning this when its released."
